While it isn't much of a surprise considering how wildly successful the game was for PlayStation, one thing that's kept players guessing is the cast and direction choices. While Jason Momoa was originally set to star in the upcoming film, the famed actor had reportedly exited the project over the summer for unknown reasons. While fans have been relatively left in the dark over the course of the production of the Helldivers movie, a recent rumor is one of the biggest updates we've heard yet. Alan Ritchson Is Supposedly Replacing Jason Momoa As noted by CultureCrave on X, an anonymous insider has reported to Deadline that Alan Ritchson is now in talks to star as one of the major Helldivers in the film. Although no other information was given aside from the name of the actor taking up the mantle, it does at least confirm that the project is still moving through production and hopefully isn't in a state of limbo waiting for new talent. Given that few actors could fill the role for someone with as much physical presence as Jason Momoa, the Helldivers movie chose a close second with Alan Ritchson, who stars as the massive Reacher in the titularly named show.
