Helldivers 2 Is Doubling Its Level Cap Soon

Helldivers 2 To Double Its Level Cap To 300, With Banked XP For Veterans Published Aug 6, 2026, 11:14 AM EDT Joshua Robertson is an editor for TheGamer, having working in news, guides, features, and reviews since 2022. Helldivers 2 has been around for a couple of years now, meaning most of the game's long-term grinds are pretty much complete for the majority of regular players. For a never-ending live service game, that's not ideal, but thankfully, Arrowhead is delivering another long-term grind coming soon that should give a lot of people a reason to keep playing. Helldivers 2 Is Increasing The Level Cap First announced via the Helldivers 2 Steam page, Arrowhead has revealed that the game's level cap will be increasing once again. Initially, the game's level cap was 50, before it was then tripled to 150 after launch. Now, that level cap is being increased once again, as it's being doubled to a whopping 300 as part of a "broader progression overhaul." However, you don't need to worry about anything of significance being locked behind this new level cap increase. Arrowhead has explained that everything you need to make your loadouts function unlock before level 25, and this new update won't change that. New rewards will be available for those that level up, but they'll be in the form of titles. There's also good news for those that have been at max level for a while, and have been playing Helldivers 2 regardless. Arrowhead has explained that the experience you've gained for every game you've played after reaching max level has been recorded and has already been banked, meaning you'll automatically have that experience applied when the level cap increased. That means, if you play the game a lot, there's a very real possibility you could log back in to the game one day and find yourself at level 300 already, though for most people, it should be more of a challenge to actually get there. It also means you can safely keep playing until te level cap increase drops without worrying about playing for nothing, so get back in there, soldier, Super Earth needs you.
