The food manufacturing giant has launched Heinz Extra Rich Beanz which promise a “stronger, more savoury taste” according to the product description. Sign up for the Money newsletter Thank you! The beans are also high in both protein and fibre and are one of your five a day. While the ingredients between the new Extra Rich Beanz are similar to the regular Beanz, there are a few notable differences, including the addition of Yeast Extract, Black Pepper and Natural Flavouring. The new tinned beans also don’t list water as an ingredient. For now, Heinz Extra Rich Beanz are only sold through Ocado and priced at £1.40 per 410g tin. Shoppers looking to pick up the revamped beans can currently snap up the tins at reduced prices. The brand new product is currently included in Ocado’s “buy any 2 for £2” offer, available until September 8. Most read in Money Beans fans in Facebook’s Newfoodsuk group seem to think the revamped recipe will mean the new beans are more reminiscent of past versions of the cupboard staple. “In other words, how they USED to be,” wrote one user. “So the original taste then,” agreed another. Shoppers seemed divided over the new launch, with some users claiming there is a better beans brand on the shelves that they will be sticking to. One user wrote: “Can’t beat Branston beans…..” “Branston are better,” agreed another. Other shoppers seemed concerned about the price of the new tin, with many joking they need to be “extra rich” to purchase the can. However, one Heinz fan seemed eager to try the new product though, writing to a friend: “These would slap on a bit of warm bread.” Comment now
