Heartbroken dad thought wife was taking children on picnic before she ‘killed son, 5, and stabbed two other siblings’

A HEARTBROKEN dad believed his wife was taking their children on a picnic before she allegedly killed their five-year-old son and attacked his siblings. Police allege the 42-year-old mother parked in a quiet street before she stabbed her three children and then turned the knife on herself. The five-year-old boy died inside the white four-wheel drive, while his two younger siblings suffered wounds to their necks. He rushed to The Children’s Hospital at Westmead where the two children were said to be in stable condition on Tuesday morning. His wife has since been charged with domestic violence-related murder and two counts of grievous bodily harm with intent to murder. Police described the alleged attack as “barbaric”. Local resident Julie Sukkar initially believed the commotion just metres from her front door was the aftermath of a traffic accident. But when she went outside, she saw a white four-wheel drive parked on a vacant block with the children inside. She told the Daily Mail: “I only thought there were two children at first, but there were three of them in there. “The woman on the ground was yelling, screaming and thrashing about. I’m not sure what she was saying, or if she was trying to say anything. “She was covered in blood and had some really bad injuries.” On Monday cops confirmed that the woman’s injuries were believed to be self inflicted and identified her as the suspect. She appeared before Penrith Local Court via video link on Tuesday and was refused bail, with the case adjourned until November 20.
