Heartbeat’s Tricia Penrose gives fans a tour of the show’s original pub after buying it 16 years after playing Gina

HEARTBEAT legend Tricia Penrose has given fans a tour of the show’s iconic pub – after buying it in real life. The Sun were first to reveal that the actress, who famously played barmaid Gina Ward in the ITV drama 16 years ago, had snapped up the original boozer where the show was filmed. Tricia’s character Gina famously worked in the pub throughout the show’s run, and today she showed off the bar on Good Morning Britain after buying it. Sign up for the TV newsletter Thank you! The star took fans on a tour of the pub where she was seen back behind the bar pulling pints for punters. Tricia also was stood in the pub’s famous “snug”, where plenty of drama used to go on. The actress revealed, that together with her business partners, she planned to turn the pub back into The Aidensfield Arms, and even rename it as that. She also revealed that she “would be singing” again in the bar, just like her character Gina did – plus that they would be holding special evenings, which would include a Heartbeat quiz. Taking to Instagram, the star penned:: “I have some exciting news to announce. Most read in TV “I am now the proud owner along with 2 local businessmen of The Goathland Hotel well known as The Aidensfield Arms where I played Gina Ward for 18 years.” Tricia added: “Gina’s going home!! Woo hoo!! It’s very exciting xxxx.” The recognisable pub is located in North Yorkshire and was previously run by the same family for more than 41 years until it was sold to Tricia and her partners. The actress played barmaid Gina on Heartbeat from 1993 to 2010 before taking a step back from the limelight.
