Not my child, not my job, and not the rest of my life. I needed a drink to function — at 6 am,” she wrote in her book. She first went to rehab when her daughter was four months old in 2015. She last checked into treatment in 2020 for eight months, and was believed to have been sober since. However, Hayden died on Sunday afternoon at a rental apartment in Greenville, South Carolina. According to a police report obtained by The U.S. Sun, Hayden’s on-again boyfriend Brian Hickerson‘s brother Zach entered the apartment to discover the actress unresponsive in a chair. (Brian was sleeping in another room of the apartment.) Either Zach or Brian called 911, but an emergency medical team was unable to save her. According to 911 dispatch audio, she was treated for an apparent overdose. Hayden’s exact cause of death will remain unknown until cops obtain the results of toxicology tests in several weeks. Meanwhile, a criminal investigation has reportedly been launched to find out if anyone was responsible for the tragic loss. Comment now
