Hatsune Miku Secret Lair MTG Deck List And Release Date

Published Jul 27, 2026, 5:00 PM EDT Niall (pronounced Ny-ul) is a UK-based writer who has been writing about Magic: The Gathering throughout his entire career, with everything from new set breakdowns and individual deck guides to offering his opinions on the state of formats and the general direction of the iconic TCG. Niall also has a rich history covering triple-A releases, sports games, and PC hardware. It's been rumored and leaked for what seems like forever, but the Hatsune Miku Magic: The Gathering Commander deck was finally confirmed during the MagicCon Amsterdam Secret Lair reveal-a-thon, and you won't have to wait very long to get your hands on it. This Secret Lair Commander deck is the second of the year, following the hugely popular Goblin Storm deck, which sold out almost immediately and was being resold on secondary markets for more than three times the price. Based on what I saw first-hand at MagicCon, this is set to be another reasonably powerful deck, but its popularity is likely to be driven more by the redesigned card featuring the virtual icon than by its playability. Only six cards were officially revealed during the Secret Lair reveal-a-thon at MagicCon Amsterdam, but we can also piece together a couple extra staples that Wizards tends to include in every Commander precon it releases. The cards we officially know about so far are: Miku, Song of the People [Trostani, Selesnya's Voice] Miku, Voice Over All [Shalai, Voice of Plenty] Archangel of Tunes [Archangel of Thune] Song of the Worldsoul Miku-themed Plains Miku-themed Forest Leaked cards from this deck include Miku-themed versions of Grand Crescendo, Halo Fountain, Soul Warden, Break Down, Cultivate, Finale of Devestation, Vorinclex, Voice of Hunger, and Bountiful Promenade. On top of this, I fully expect the deck to feature a Sol Ring, Arcane Signet, and Command Tower. As confirmed during the MagicCon event, only a handful of the cards from the final deck list will be given new designs to fit the Hatsune Miku theme, so don't expect the full 100-card list to be all original designs. The Goblin Storm deck featured 17 cards with original artwork, but of these, two were tokens, and three were lands . Given that two of the initial reveals are Angel-type cards, and the other is a Dryad with life gain ramifications, I fully expect this deck to go heavy on these strategies and include some more Angels alongside plenty of ways to gain life. Populate is also a mechanic that features on two of the cards we've already seen, as are +1/+1 counters, so more of the same on this front would be welcome. With Populate, it's safe to assume that tokens will play a big role in this deck also, so adding more cards that directly address or interact with tokens is another solid route this deck may take. Trostani is (barely) a top 500 Commander according to EDHREC, and based on her synergies, it's best to view this card as a fun Commander, rather than a high-level competitive card. Hatsune Miku Commander Deck Price & Release Date We know that the Hatsune Miku Commander deck will launch on Monday, August 10, at 9 am PT on the Secret Lair website. The deck is expected to be priced at $149.99, which is the same as the Goblin Storm deck from earlier this year. This drop is expected to be hugely popular, so if you've never experienced the Secret Lair system before, here are a few quick tips to help give you the best chance at getting a deck. Make sure you have a Wizards account or know your details (email/password). Sign up for the reminder link at the bottom of the Secret Lair website. The waiting room will open at 8 am PT on the launch day; you can pre-order the deck in your basket at this point before being placed into the first queue. At 9 am PT, the waiting room will close, and all participants will then be randomized into another queue to complete their purchase. Have payment details to hand so you can check out as quickly as possible. Just because you gain entrance to the site doesn't guarantee the drop won't sell out before you complete payment.
