Has Kemi fixed the Tories?

NewsPolitics CONSERVATIVE leader Kemi Badenoch has been actively breathing new life into the right wing party but has she done enough to fix the Tories? Her performances in the Commons have helped turn around the fortunes of the party in the polls. According to the latest YouGov polling, 30 per cent of Brits now have a favourable opinion of the Tories, the highest level since October 2021, prior to the revelations surrounding Partygate. Unfavourable opinions towards the party are a little more stubborn, with 63 per cent of the public seeing the Tories in a negative light, compared to 58 party in October 2021. Nonetheless, this is down twelve points on the 75 per cent peak in dislike towards the party on the eve of the 2024 general election. While things may be looking up for Badenoch, things are also improving for Labour. The same survey found that a third of Britons (34 per cent) now have a positive opinion of Labour, a rise six points since the end of June and the highest level recorded by YouGov since August 2024, shortly after the party took power. Most read in The Sun Badenoch has also just carried out a major reshuffle of her top team. Former Sky executive Andrew Griffith has been brought in to replace Mel Stride as the Shadow Chancellor. Claire Coutinho was named as his deputy on the economy and Shadow Business Secretary, while Richard Fuller will be charged with finding savings. Tom Tugendhat also made a return to the frontbench as Shadow Foreign Secretary, replacing Priti Patel. But has Badenoch done enough to secure your vote?
