Sign in to your ScreenRant account One Harry Potter alum is about to have a new movie released on Hulu. Among the many high profile members of the supporting cast of Harry Potter was David Thewlis. Thewlis played Remus Lupin in the Wizarding World, appearing first in 2004's Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, and then wrapping up his time with the final film, Deathly Hallows: Part 2. Outside of playing Remus, Thewlis is known for his roles in movies such as Naked and Kingdom of Heaven. Those who appreciate Thewlis' work as Remus and more will soon have the chance to see him in a new sci-fi film on streaming. Thewlis stars in the 2026 film Signal One, a sci-fi mystery which chronicles the story of a computer scientist who ends up working for a tech billionaire on a project that could change humanity for good. In addition to Thewlis, the film stars Isabelle Fuhrman, Dennis Quaid, and Josh Hutcherson. Signal One comes to Hulu next week, starting on September 4. Signal One's Hulu Streaming Release Is A Great Sign After Under-The-Radar Premiere This is not the first opportunity viewers have had to see Signal One. The sci-fi film had a tiny premiere back in early June of this year, after its festival debut at the Sci-Fi London Film Festival in May. However, this premiere was too small for the film to even have a box office total, and did not extend internationally. As such, very few people have had the opportunity to see the movie. This makes Signal One's Hulu release very significant for the film. It is a good sign that the movie got noticed enough to get a streaming platform. There, it will have a much higher chance of success from viewers-at-home, especially those who might want to see a Harry Potter alum like Thewlis, or the former Hunger Games stars Josh Hutcherson and Isabelle Fuhrman. Why Signal One's Reviews Are So Positive Another good sign for Signal One is its positive reviews. Though it does not have many reviews, due to its limited release, Signal One has an 80% Tomatometer on Rotten Tomatoes, meaning most critics have responded positively. Its praise includes kudos to its intriguing plot premise as well as the character work, which is supported by strong performances. As Signal One arrives on Hulu early next month, it has the opportunity to get similar praise from audiences, raising its Popcornmeter (which is currently at 67%).
