Harry Kane hints at surprise next club move after Bayern contract ends

Harry Kane has heavily hinted he would like to end his football career in the MLS — and then get “serious” about becoming an NFL kicker.The England captain has spoken for the first time in years about converting to American football once he has he retired, and says it remains his dream.But Kane has now also dropped a strong suggestion that he is eyeing up a move to the MLS before he hangs up his boots in the sport that made him a household name.After joking that watching professional golfers made him rule out that post-career path, Kane was reminded of his previous retirement plan of a move into the NFL.“That is something I will try and look at a bit more seriously,” Kane said. “It all depends on what happens in my career over the next five or six years, the motivation, and what I want to do. I take penalties and it is a very similar pressure and technique. If I did that, in terms of training, I would be closer to that more than any other sport.“But as I know, with all elite sports, when you watch it on TV, people make it look easy and you think it is possible but that is not always the case. If I was to do it, it is something I would take seriously. I would take six months to a year to try and practice before.”Kane confirmed that no NFL teams had approached him yet, adding that “might come later.”He continued: “If people know I am still on the top of my game here with football, it is not a conversation that would be had.“Maybe if I am in the MLS in the future or somewhere like that, it might be a thing where you could connect the two, maybe, with the seasons, but again, it is in the back of my mind because right now, I am feeling that I want to play as long as I can here. “Sometimes it is easy to get to my age, 33, [and to] start thinking about retirement or the future, but I am trying to extract everything I can from the last two, five or 10 years, I will keep going.Read MoreThe England captain confirmed that talks are ongoing with Bayern Munich over a new deal, with all parties confident an agreement will be reached.“We're still talking,” he said. “We're in good talks, I'll be honest.
