Spoiler alert for a 12-year-old movie: During the climax, the piece’s second hand quivers out Morse code that helps McConaughey’s Coop communicate with his daughter Murph and rescue all of humanity from certain doom. Watches have become icons for a lot less, and leaning into this status—making it even Murphier—is a smart way for Hamilton to feed the many enthusiasts who have fallen in love with the model.Besides the blue dial, Hamilton smartly kept the watch’s essential Murphness.
