Hamden police announce arrests in 2 cold cases

Hamden police officials announced Friday the arrests of two men in two separate cold cases. The first was the arrest of 19-year-old Brian Backman, charged in connection with the fatal shooting of 22-year-old Kaymar Tanner. The shooting happened in July 2020 on Newbury Street. Officials said multiple agencies and Hamden detectives worked on the case for six years.
