Halo Officially Returns With A New Game Later This Year

Its success will undoubtedly usher in a new era of Halo titles, games defined by the series past while incorporating the many lessons Halo Studios (formerly 343 Industries) has learned through the production of Halo Infinite. However, before we reach the next mainline Halo title, there is a brand-new game coming later this year that fans of Campaign Evolved especially will enjoy. Launching alongside the incredible upcoming Halo Zeta, this new game will offer fans a whole new way of experiencing Master Chief's journey while still adhering to all the core features and concepts that they love so much. At the very least, it should prove to be an entertaining experience to help pass the time until the next mainline Halo game is announced. Halo Studios With brand-new Halo content stretching to 2027, fans are bound to find something within the IP that catches their attention. A swathe of exciting new novels ranging from prequels to side adventures are being pumped out at a surprisingly rapid pace; there are rumors of even more remakes coming in the future; we may even catch a glimpse of the next mainline Halo game sometime in the next year or so, especially if Halo Studios and Xbox want to keep the current positive momentum going. However, before all of that, fans can look forward to a new release from Mantic Games. The same team behind the critically acclaimed Halo: Flashpoint tabletop wargame is officially producing Halo: Campaign Evolved - The Board Game. It's an unexpected reveal, although one that makes sense considering the rising popularity of board games. Considering that it is being developed by Mantic Games, there's a high chance that it'll be more akin to the Cyberpunk 2077 board games and other video game board game spin-offs, and less of the traditional cash-grab releases that pop up whenever an IP becomes even remotely popular. Announced via the official Mantic Games website, the upcoming board game adaptation of Halo: Campaign Evolved is set to launch in Q4 2026, which could be any time between October 1 and December 31. Mantic Games hasn't confirmed many details about the board game, other than that it will be an "action-packed" experience based on the game and can be played by up to two people. A solo mode will also be included for those who prefer to play their board games alone. "Created in partnership with Halo Studios and designed for 1–2 players (ages 13+), Halo: Campaign Evolved - The Board Game is an action-packed board game built around Master Chief's iconic adventure." Mantic Games has confirmed that it will announce more details about the upcoming Halo game in due course, so fans likely won't have to wait long before they can see what it has to offer. Until then, there are plenty of other exciting Halo projects being announced and released, and even the aforementioned rumors of a Halo 2 remake, a project that would frankly be more bizarre than this Halo board game based on a remake of a remake of a 2001 masterpiece.
