Celebrate the spookiest time of the year with some new Halloween: The Game content Image: Illfonic Sign in to your Polygon.com account With Halloween fast approaching, horror movie fans have already started celebrating this spooky season. Soon, they'll be able to celebrate in style with the launch of the first set of post-release DLC content for Halloween: The Game. The upcoming content includes two Michael Myers skins and various character customization options. In Halloween: The Game, players are tasked with fighting the evil that is Michael Myers or taking on his role and chasing helpless victims through Haddonfield. As in the original Halloween, the game is set in 1978, so Michael Myers' in-game look matches his movie counterpart. In October, a major update is coming to Halloween: The Game, and it will take players forward in time. Halloween: The Game set to release $40 worth of DLC Merely a month into the game's release, developer Illfonic has already announced four DLC packs coming on Oct. 27: Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers skin Halloween (2018) skin Michelle and Eugene Character Pack Civilian Costumes Pack Each Michael Myers skin costs $9.99, which some fans believe to be too much for a video game cosmetic. Michelle and Eugene are sold together for $9.99, as part of a character pack. The Civilian Costumes Pack also costs $9.99, but includes 14 character skins, Halloween costumes — perfect for a themed experience — and 42 tints. Alongside the skins, everyone will gain access to a new map for free. Those who get The Revenge of Michael Myers DLC will feel like they belong with the release of the Tower Farm map, inspired by Halloween 5. The map is bound to shake things up and create an interesting dynamic in multiplayer matches; there are plenty of places for civilians to hide, but also many open spaces where they can become easy prey to Michael Myers. Thankfully, the paid DLCs only include cosmetic items; any additional gameplay features will be free for everyone that owns the base game. Therefore, players won't feel like they're missing out if they opt to pass on these packs.
