Guy Ritchie's hit Netflix crime thriller series has just shot its way up a few more million hours viewed to continue an impressive global streaming run. Ritchie understands what it takes to make a successful TV show on a streaming service, as Ritchie's list of hit series includes a few recent projects on Prime Video, Paramount+, and more. On the former, Ritchie was involved with the Sherlock Holmes prequel series Young Sherlock, which took the action to the early days of the greatest detective in fiction, with Hero Fiennes Tiffin portraying Sherlock as Holmes took on his first case. Young Sherlock became a global hit and was renewed for season 2 on Prime Video. As for Ritchie's Paramount+ success, the director is part of those charting the course for the Tom Hardy crime thriller series MobLand. The show is currently airing season 2, and after some controversial behind-the-scenes reports about Hardy's behavior and status, MobLand season 3 is also confirmed to be happening at Paramount+. Another of the Ritchie shows to have been given a green light for another season is Netflix's The Gentlemen, with the Theo James and Kaya Scodelario crime thriller having added millions of hours viewed last week. Ritchie's The Gentlemen Series Continues To Dominate Netflix Netflix has officially confirmed that both seasons of Ritchie's The Gentlemen were among the streaming service's most-watched TV shows (English) worldwide for the week from September 28 to October 4. According to Netflix data, The Gentlemen season 1 was Netflix's 9th most-watched English-language TV show around the world for that week, with the crime thriller series' most recent release, The Gentlemen season 2, standing even better at 6th on the global chart. The Gentlemen season 2 debuted on Netflix on September 3, dropping its eight episodes at once, all of which were co-written by Ritchie. He also directed the first two episodes. In the past week, season 1 amassed 11.4 million hours viewed on Netflix around the world, while The Gentlemen season 2 brought in 21.8 million hours watched. Combined, that means that the TV show racked up 33.2 million hours on Netflix last week. In terms of views, which are Netflix's top metric, and consist of the hours viewed divided by a movie or a TV show's season's runtime, season 1 amassed 1.7 million views, while season 2 went up 2.9 million views. They have reached 15 and 5 weeks on Netflix's global top 10, respectively. East of Eden led the chart with 6.5 million views. Where Does Season 2 Leave The Crime Thriller? To avoid that from repeating itself, Netflix renewed The Gentlemen for season 3 in August, before season 2 had even premiered on the streaming service. The Gentlemen season 2 followed James' Eddie and Scodelario's Susie as they expanded their cannabis empire with new help from the Italian mafia. The Gentlemen season 3 will have to deal with Eddie's major loss and how that should harden him, as well as how his relationship with Susie changes.
