The 14-year-old spoke about the prolonged sexual violence that she suffered for nearly eight months at the hands of her stepfather.In addition to this, she said that the accused repeatedly threatened her with serious consequences if she disclosed the abuse to anyone. Fearing the repercussions, the minor remained silent and continued to endure the abuse. Following the revelation, her mother immediately approached the local police station and filed a complaint against her husband. Acting on the complaint, police arrested the accused without delay.The police have issued charges under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. According to police, the minor's mother had remarried around a decade ago after separating from her first husband, bringing her daughter along. Since then, the accused had been living with the family as the girl's stepfather.Police are continuing their investigation into the case.
