GTA 6's Jason Is Clearly Meant To Be Awkward

Some of the games George has extensively covered first-hand include Dead Rising, Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero, Assassin's Creed Shadows, and Ninja Gaiden 4. Grand Theft Auto 6 fans have been a little slower to accept Jason, but one incredibly relatable moment from the trailer might have finally done the trick. With characters like Arthur Morgan, Niko Bellic, Jimmy Hopkins, and John Marston under its belt, Rockstar has made a name for itself with some top-tier protagonists. GTA 6 has taken so long and generated so much expectation that the pressure is on for its two leads, Lucia and Jason, to be even better. For Lucia, the love was pretty much instant, both because she’s the first female lead in a 3D GTA and because she’s got a ton of fire. Jason, on the other hand, has been getting a little more flak for his “dull” personality and unique voice. Fans have a pretty good theory about Jason, though, and one moment in the trailer has cemented his reputation. GTA 6’s Jason Is Now Everyone’s Favourite Awkward King I Don’t Get How It Took People This Long Since GTA 6’s Extended Look premiered last week, fans have been heavily discussing Jason and his seeming lack of personality, despite us only seeing a very small glimpse at the game. Many think that Jason has a surprising lack of personality compared to Lucia, leading many to speculate why that might be. Some think that Jason is traumatised from his time in the military, while others think he might be on Angstipan, the antidepressant shown on his TV. The real truth of it all, though, is that Jason is probably just a bit awkward, despite his gruff demeanour. In fact, one scene from the Extended Look that’s gone viral is all the proof we need. As pointed out by Twitter user BoldfaceJames, there’s a quick moment where Jason meets a friend at a bar and gets a handshake from them. After the shake is over, Jason clearly thinks there’s a second part to it, as he leaves his arm hanging and then relatably lets it sink after that’s proven not to be the case. If that’s not enough for you, Jason even says at one point that he’s sometimes more comfortable with a gun in his hand than talking to people. This very quick moment has clearly turned the tide on Jason, with Twitter user mosuyanagi saying “this of all things made me more interested in him as a character”. That seems to be the general consensus on things, as most are now seeing Jason as the “cute” one out of him and Lucia. You know, besides the potential mass killings and penchant for crime.
