GTA 6 physical map has to be bought separately and won’t be in boxed copies

| Games News Writer Published November 3, 2026 4:17pm Updated November 3, 2026 4:17pm Double trouble (Rockstar) As we approach the launch date, Rockstar has confirmed pre-load details for GTA 6 and how you can get a physical map of Leonida. With just over two weeks until it launches on November 19, we’re officially on the home stretch to GTA 6. As such, developer Rockstar has offered up some concrete specifics around the game’s size, the pre-load dates and, crucially, whether boxed copies will come with a physical map like prior entries in the series. Firstly, anyone who has pre-ordered GTA 6 digitally across PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S can pre-load the game from Tuesday, November 10 at midnight in the UK. Meanwhile, code-in-a-box copies will be available from retailers beginning Thursday, November 12. If you’ve booked time off work for the launch day, you’ll want to pre-load too. Rockstar has confirmed the pre-load file for GTA 6 will ‘require up to 212GB depending on your device’, as prior leaks suggested, so you’ll have to clear out plenty of space beforehand. Additionally, in an FAQ page, Rockstar confirmed GTA 6 will launch midnight local time on November 19, 2026, which means it will be released first in New Zealand, 13 hours ahead of the UK. How to get a Leonida map for GTA 6 Elsewhere in the same post, Rockstar announced a printable GTA 6 cover art poster and map of Leonida will be available as a free digital download from the game’s official website. However, a double-sided physical version of the poster will be available shortly after launch from the Rockstar Store – either for $0.99 (£0.75p) or as a free gift with any purchase from the Rockstar Store. In the past, GTA and Red Dead Redemption games have come with a map inside boxed copies. However, considering the digital steer of GTA 6’s launch, it perhaps shouldn’t be too surprising that it’s being sold separately or offered as a free digital item. GTA 6 is set to launch worldwide in two separate versions. The standard edition costs £69.99, while the digital exclusive ultimate edition packed with extra cosmetics and a one month GTA+ subscription costs £89.99. Last week, Rockstar debuted new gameplay of GTA 6 inside an episode of South Park, while posters have started popping up in Rockstar North’s hometown of Edinburgh, Scotland.
