GTA 6 Models, Map Data, And More Have Reportedly Leaked

It's A Bad Week For Rockstar, As GTA 6 Models And Map Data Have Leaked Through Xbox Graphics Capture Published Aug 21, 2026, 9:59 AM EDT George is the Lead News Editor for TheGamer, and has been working in the industry since 2021 after graduating from the University of South Wales with a bachelor's degree in Journalism. He has also previously written for RPG Site, WhatCulture, and PlayStation Lifestyle. George is an expert on platformers, action games, and fighters, but tends to play as many releases as possible. This hands-on experience lets him dive into gaming communities and follow the latest trends. Some of the games George has extensively covered first-hand include Dead Rising, Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero, Assassin's Creed Shadows, and Ninja Gaiden 4. Rockstar might want to consider looking into its security, as Grand Theft Auto 6 map data, models, and assets have reportedly leaked through an Xbox Graphics Capture file. For a game as closely guarded as GTA 6, it’s a little shocking how frequently it gets leaked. We all remember the massive 2022 data breach that gave us our first look at the game before it was even announced, but that’s been topped this week by all the gameplay footage shared by hacker group Cyberleek. In the past few days, lots of GTA 6 footage has been shared by the group, with the steady stream of leaks only slowing down a little in the past 24 hours. Cyberleek isn't the only one with leaked content from GTA 6, though, as community members are reporting that a bunch of assets have been found through an Xbox Graphics Capture file. GTA 6 Leaks Keep On Coming As Models And Map Data Reportedly Uncovered It Sounds Like We Won’t Be Seeing Any Of It, Though As reported by Twitter user and GTA insider videotech this new leak is unrelated to all of the gameplay videos from Cyberleek. Instead, it’s tied to an Xbox Graphics Capture file, which contains information from within the console. In this case, map height data, models, a texture from the UI minimap, and “minor assets” have all been extracted. If you’re wondering, map height would essentially tell us how far into the air and how deep into the sea players can go. If you’re worried about even more GTA 6 information getting out there before Rockstar has the chance to share it, then you’ll be happy to hear that the file is “being gated from the public”. It seems like only certain members of the GTA community have access right now, and they seem set to keep it that way. Of course, if there are leaked files out there, there’s always a chance that someone ends up sharing it with the rest of the world. We’ve already seen so much of GTA 6 in the past few days, though, and I can’t imagine what’s been found is on the same level as the gameplay footage, so there’s a chance it stays safe. For now, it seems like the leak hasn't made the rounds just yet, as I could only find AI mockups and images that don't seem to be legitimate. That could change at any time, although I'm honestly hoping we get a bit of a break from so much of GTA 6 leaking this close to the finish line.
