The group's manifesto demands no digital preorders, no fake single-player DLC, and offline fallback modes. Cyberleek is fundraising via a meme coin and vows more strikes; community groups condemn the destructive leak. Cyberleek, the group that has claimed responsibility for the recent substantial Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6) gameplay leak, says they didn't just drop the footage for fun. The group recently published a manifesto calling out video game industry practices it disagrees with and even went so far as to say it plans to target other publishers it views as anti-consumer (via PC Gamer). "Publishers sell licenses and call them purchases," reads Cyberleek's document. "They ship unfinished games and call them living services. They lock content on discs and call it DLC. They kill games and keep the money. Every year anti-consumerism tightens its grip, and every year gamers get less for what they pay." Rockstar has come under fire recently for revealing that it will not release GTA 6 on physical disc, forcing players to buy an empty box with a in it code instead. Specific in-game content is also locked behind a more expensive $100 version of the game. In its manifesto, Cyberleek lists three "commandments": no digital preorders, no fake single-player-ready part of the game data, and mandatory "offline fallback states" for single-player games. Cyberleek will not stop until they issue a public statement and apology, along with a concrete commitment to do better. Words are not enough; restitution is mandatory," writes Cyberleek. These funds are reportedly being raised through a meme-coin crypto scheme prominently featured in the watermark on the leaked footage. Inside Cyberleek's manifesto is a mention of the Stop Killing Games movement, which YouTuber Ross Scott launched in April 2024 after Ubisoft shut down The Crew's servers, rendering the game unplayable. The grassroots group aims to fight against anti-consumer industry practices. However, Stop Killing Games has condemned Cyberlook's "destructive" GTA 6 leak. Grand Theft Auto 6 is three months away from its console release on November 19th, 2026, and its timed exclusive Netflix reveal is set for next week. The leaked footage of the anticipated title in action is pretty extensive. It includes images of the game's complete map, as well as its main character, Jason Duval, walking around his home and playing basketball. There's another clip of a car being driven and hand-to-hand combat. All leaked footage of GTA 6 that Rockstar hasn't verified is being removed from social media platforms by the developer. With all of this in mind, if you want to go into GTA 6 completely dark, it's likely a good idea to avoid social media right now.
