GTA 6 Is All 3 Of The Best-Selling Pre-Orders On PS5 Right Now

GTA 6 Is Currently The 1st, 2nd, And 3rd Best-Selling Game On PS5 Published Nov 5, 2026, 10:00 AM EST Josh Coulson is an editor at TheGamer covering breaking news on everything from colorful platformers to the latest Lego sets. Primarily a news writer since 2018, Josh has covered just about every major game from the past decade. Now an editor, their focus has shifted to being the leading affiliate expert at the site, building relationships between TheGamer and global brands including Mattel, Funko, and The Pokemon Company. It might be Ocarina of Time week, but that doesn’t mean the GTA 6 train has stopped or even slowed down. It’s full speed ahead now, and despite having another generational game to compete with that was released today, GTA 6 is dominating the PS5 pre-order charts. Dominating is actually an understatement. While we won’t have solid numbers until after GTA 6 is released and Take-Two decides to share them, a quick look at the best-selling pre-orders on PS5 demonstrates just how much hype there is for this game, and how many millions of copies it has almost certainly already sold. Gold, Silver, And Bronze Rockstar In various regions, including the UK, GTA 6 isn’t just the number one selling pre-order on PS5 right now. It’s also the second best-selling pre-order. Oh, and the third best too. The $100 Ultimate Edition reigns supreme, the $80 standard edition is up next, and in third position is the $20 Ultimate Edition upgrade you can buy if you pre-ordered the standard edition and then changed your mind. That was also the case on the US PlayStation Store too up until a couple of hours ago. GTA 6 has maintained its stranglehold on the top two spots, while the Ultimate Edition upgrade pack has been pushed down into fourth position by the Collector’s Edition of the upcoming Final Fantasy 14 expansion. I’d bet my future Leonida beachfront home on it being back in third. It might even be there already by the time you read this. As impressive as it is for one game to be the top three best-selling games all at the same time, GTA 6 doesn’t have much to compete with on PS5 for the rest of 2026. That’s one of the reasons why Shrek 2 Remastered is up there along with it. That said, this chart accounts for any games you can pre-order right now, and there are some upcoming blockbusters being pushed down the list thanks to the all-consuming nature of GTA 6. The Rest Of 2026 Is All About GTA 6 Rockstar Even though GTA 6 would likely be first, second, and third even without these two games being hit with delays, Forza Horizon 6 on PS5 getting pushed into 2027, and God of War Laufey getting hit with an unexpected three-month delay have likely hindered the pace at which their pre-orders are selling. They are still both up there, though, right behind GTA, Shrek, and Evercold. Which edition of GTA 6 have you pre-ordered? Ultimate Edition, all in baby! Standard edition is all I need. None, I'll buy it when it's out. I have no interest in playing GTA 6. As exciting as it’s going to be to finally play a new GTA game - only two weeks to go - hearing just how well this game has sold will be almost as fascinating. GTA 5 has sold 230 million copies. Not only am I expecting GTA 6 to potentially match that, but I think it will take a lot less than 13 years to get there.
