As Grand Theft Auto 6 footage continues to be shared by hacker group Cyberleek, Take-Two has filed subpoenas to get Microsoft and Discord to share information about the leaks. By now, you’re no doubt aware that GTA 6, the most-anticipated game in the world that’s been locked up like Fort Zancudo for years, has been leaked left, right, and centre over the past few days. The leaked footage started circulating on Tuesday and has been shared nearly every day since, with each new clip showing more and more of Leonida. Despite many of us thinking that Cyberleek had been caught in the past 24 hours, the group just shared another clip that has everyone wondering what Rockstar and Take-Two are going to do about it all. Both have been silent on the matter this week, but court records show that they’re actively trying to get to the bottom of things. GTA 6 Publisher Has Filed Subpoenas To Try And Find Cyberleek As reported by Kotaku, GTA 6 publisher and Rockstar parent company Take-Two Interactive filed subpoenas with the Southern District Court of New York on August 20. The subpoenas are requesting that Microsoft and Discord share any relevant information on the leaks to try and track down who has been sharing and posting them. The subpoena notes that the copyrighted material includes “audiovisual content, artwork, images, dialogue, or other creative elements”, which is basically a catch-all for any GTA 6 leak making the rounds. Microsoft has until September 4 to share “all internal Microsoft business records” that are associated with the “cyberleek persona”. Unsurprisingly, the aim of the subpoena is to “identify the user(s) person(s) and/or entity/ies associated with that persona”, and requests information about the Discord servers, account IDs, emails, last-login IP addresses, their linked accounts, and much more. Basically, Take-Two is going all in on trying to find who’s behind Cyberleek through any means possible. Of course, this isn’t a surprise considering the secrecy behind GTA 6 and the impact of leaks for a game that’s just about to have its big gameplay reveal. Cyberleek must have anticipated all of this going down when it started sharing the footage, but it’s certainly going to have a hell of a time if Rockstar and Take-Two manage to find them.
