GTA 6 Full Map Revealed With 6 New Regions

Sign in to your ScreenRant account It's no surprise that Grand Theft Auto 6's map will be the biggest that the series has seen yet, but we've finally gotten direct confirmation of what it will include. In the past, we've learned that the map will be roughly double the size of GTA 5's, and trailers and gameplay footage have made it possible to approximate the scope of the central location of Vice City. Of course, Vice City is just the start for GTA 6, with the game set to cover the fictional state of Leonida in a much wider scope. Just how much of the map will actually be full of things to do is another question, but it all sounds very promising in the latest update. As reported by Game Informer, the Grand Theft Auto 6 map will be divided into the following six primary regions: Vice City Leonida Keys Grassrivers Port Gellhorn Ambrosia Mount Kalaga National Park Each of these corresponds roughly to a real-world analogue in the state of Florida. Vice City is based on Miami, naturally, while the Leonida Keys mimic the Florida Keys, and Grassrivers takes the place of the Everglades. Others are more nebulous. Port Gellhorn stands in for "Florida's many smaller and, in some cases, struggling tourist trap areas." Ambrosia is the manufacturing city, and Mount Kalaga is a national park on the fictional equivalent of the Florida-Georgia line. While the latter area will be more scattered than the centralized city regions, it will contain plenty of bike trails, farms, golf courses, and more. What's less clear is how Florida's central region will be represented, and whether the game will attempt to have direct stand-ins for sites like Walt Disney World and Cape Canaveral. In response to a Game Informer query about the subject, Rockstar's senior vice president of environment art, Paul MacPherson, suggested the game "may not have those exact locations" but is consistently "geared to getting that full Florida experience." As for the map itself, it will be styled after satellite imagery rather than the simplified maps of older games in the franchise. Rockstar head of development Aaron Garbut also reiterated the previous figure associated with its size, noting once more that it's twice as big as GTA 5's map, along with being "more dense, detailed, and interactive." No matter how you slice it, it sounds like there will be plenty to explore in GTA 6's rendition of Leonida, and it's attempting to raise the bar for detail and interactivity as well. Fans will finally be able to explore the map for themselves when Grand Theft Auto 6 releases on November 19, 2026.
