Sign in to your TheGamer account Rockstar has decided to drop an excellent launch trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6 out of nowhere and a whole month before the game's actual launch, to boot. After months of painful silence, GTA 6's marketing cycle has really kicked off over the past month or so, with big news drops for the game happening basically every single week. We've had the Extended Look, DualSense controllers, the album reveal, a controversial collector's edition, detailed previews, and much more. The one thing that's been left to wonder about GTA 6 is whether we'd get a final trailer for the game before its release in just over a month's time. Every other game in the series has had a launch trailer, but the marketing has been so unique that it was tough to know what was coming. Even so, I don't think anyone thought that launch trailer would arrive more than a month ahead of the actual launch. GTA 6 Launch Trailer Is Already Here, And It's Glorious Remember When We Were All Worried About Another Delay? The launch trailer for GTA 6 kicks off by giving a rare bit of backstory for Jason, who admits that he "ran into some trouble" during his time in the army, presumably leading him to Leonida. Jason then gets a call from Lucia in prison, ending the trailer's story teases and bringing us to a wild montage of what we can expect from our return to Vice City, all set to the instant banger, "Flower in a Hurricane". There's a lot going on in the launch trailer, but a few highlights include Jason and Lucia being cute while sitting on top of a car, Lucia jumping onto a moving plane, a steamy shower scene that I'm sure will become the new most-paused shot, and quick scenes of some characters who are key to the story, like Raul and Cal. Overall, it's a fantastic trailer that sets the tone for GTA 6 while making it clear just how much has been packed into the game over the past eight years. I'm not sure if it's quite on the same level as the GTA 5 launch trailer that everyone in my generation has practically memorised, but I'll let you know after I've rewatched it 50 more times.
