Yesterday was the day that pretty much every GTA fan was pinning all of their hopes for a new trailer on. While we didn’t end up getting an actual trailer, we did get confirmation that an “Extended Look” at GTA 6 is going to premiere on Netflix later this month on August 27, just about meeting the promised summer marketing deadline. Rockstar may not have told us what to expect in the Extended Look, but the hype around it and how close it is to the game’s release date makes it pretty clear that it’s a bigger gameplay trailer and not just Trailer 3. Now all that’s left to wonder is how much we’re going to be shown, which is something that Netflix support has answered and left us all wondering how true it is. In response, the chat said that the event will run for “approximately 20 minutes”. Let’s start off positively by taking the Netflix support chat as true. That would mean the event is very clearly a bigger gameplay deep dive, which matches up with what reliable insider NateTheHate said about getting to see plenty of the game. The runtime also just makes sense considering the big Netflix debut and how long previous gameplay reveals have been. Of course, that’s if the random Netflix chat is even correct, which often isn’t the case. The support could be an AI bot that is just hallucinating the length, or it’s just a poor employee who is no doubt being spammed with requests and is saying anything to be left alone. That sounds extreme, but there are far too many examples of support chats being wrong. All of this is to say that we’re pretty much at the same place we were when the event was announced, with no real clue on how long the GTA 6 Extended Look is going to be. If you want to believe Netflix support that we’re getting 20 minutes of footage, then go on ahead, but you might be setting yourself up for disappointment.
