I probably don’t need to tell you how guarded Rockstar is about the games that it makes, especially in the lead-up to launch. As the long wait for any update has proven multiple times over the past few years, Rockstar only shares information when it wants to, and really doesn’t like the surprisingly frequent leaks it gets hit with. That made it all the more unnerving when Stephen Root recently confirmed out of the blue that he’s involved in GTA 6. While everyone had guessed he was playing Brian Heder based on his incredibly recognisable voice, it was still a shock that anyone was able to reveal their place in the most-anticipated game in the world. As it turns out, he wasn’t really allowed. GTA 6 Actors Reportedly Reminded Not To Confirm Involvement Until Launch We’ll Be Waiting A While To Know Who Plays Jason And Lucia As reported by GTAVice.net, GTA VI O’Clock host James Jarvis recently shared “exclusive information” on the latest episode of his podcast about a message that Rockstar sent to the game’s actors. Jarvis reports that Rockstar reminded everyone to “please remember your NDA” and that the date “you may announce your involvement is still November 19th”. It’s not clear how Jarvis obtained this email, but it does suggest that we won’t be finding out who plays key characters like Jason, Lucia, and Raul until the day that GTA 6 actually launches. This was nearly the same case for Red Dead Redemption 2, which only confirmed Roger Clark as Arthur Morgan in an extensive feature two days before the game released. Of course, it doesn’t take a genius to figure out why this message has been sent out by Rockstar, if it is indeed legitimate. Even if it was the most obvious casting in the whole game, Stephen Root clearly wasn’t meant to confirm that he plays Brian when he did, and has likely had a bit of a talking-to from Rockstar.
