Grizzlies Will Not Pay Out Final Year Of Brandon Clarke's Contract Worth $12.5M

The final year of Brandon Clarke's contract with the Memphis Grizzlies has been voided, sources told Alex Schiffer of Front Office Sports. The Grizzlies will not have to pay out the final year to Clarke's estate, which was worth $12.5 million. His contract was not protected in case of death. Clarke's contract will also not count towards the salary cap next season. Clarke passed away on May 29 due to an accidental overdose. The Grizzlies terminated his contract on July 3.
