Dezeen Showroom: Italian brand Tubes and designer Elisa Ossina bring an echo of the workshop tool board to heating design with their Grid radiator. Taking the form of a thin panel of perforated aluminium, Grid combines "tidiness, aesthetic modularity and minimal rigour", according to Tubes. The Grid radiator is a thin panel with smooth circular perforations Its geometric surface turns the radiator into an architectural element while serving as an attachment point for optional accessories like shelves or hooks – a feature that is particularly practical in the bathroom. "The object is a reinvented everyday ritual, where warmth meets geometric elegance," said Ossino. "Minimalism, functionality and personality coexist in a project designed for those seeking distinctive contemporary design." The cut-outs accommodate optional accessories and decoration Grid's deceptively simple design involved the creation of new manufacturing equipment that could achieve the softened, controlled indentation of the cut-out circles. The radiator is made of recycled and recyclable aluminium, entirely from an Italian supply chain, and is available in a choice of 140 RAL colours. Grid's catalogue of accessories includes hooks, shelves, towel rails and, for the first time, a small mirror.
