Greggs unveils Christmas menu 2026 — including return of ‘elite’ discontinued item

Depsite us being 83 days away from December 25, the beloved bakery chain has launched its Christmas menu — and one of the most missed items is finally back in shops this week. Pigs in Blankets are making their triumphant return to Greggs stores nationwide. The chain’s version features six pork sausages wrapped in smoked streaky bacon, served in a takeaway pot for £2.50. First launched in 2018, the popular festive snack hasn’t been available for four years, but it’s now in store and available for delivery by Just Eat and Uber Eats. They’re back! Are you excited? (Picture: Greggs) What do people say? Back when they were in shops, people were big fans, with Garry Gammans calling them ‘smashing!’ on Facebook. Panayiota K. Theodosiou called them a ‘dream come true.’ Theresa Louise exclaimed: ‘Whoever thought of this should be awarded an OBE.’ It seems the demand is still strong, as since their discontinuation, Alan Smith wrote ‘need them now,’ and Ros Thomson asked if they were still around. Well, it looks like their wishes have come true! On Instagram, following the release @crookesjuliamarion added ‘Christmas dinner sorted’, while @saskiacurran said: ‘Looks elite.’ What else is new at Greggs? There are several newly-announced items in the bakery’s Christmas rollout, with more to follow in the coming weeks. Here’s everything we know so far… New for this year is the Sweet Mince Pie Roll (Picture: Greggs) New for 2026 is the Sweet Mince Pie Roll, from £1, which wraps sweet mincemeat made from vine fruits, Bramley apples, and candied orange and lemon peel inside puff pastry, finished with a dusting of icing sugar. Also back this year are the Sweet Mince Pies, priced from £2.60 for a 6-pack. The traditional shortcrust pastry mince pies are vegan-friendly, and include vine fruits, sweet mincemeat, candied orange and lemon peel, Bramley apple, lightly dusted with icing sugar. Priced from £1.50, the treat is packed with festive fruit and ground almonds, layered with apricot jam, almond marzipan, and white icing. Joining it are the Christmas Mini Caramel Shortbreads, priced from £2.50 for a 6-pack and featuring a crumbly shortbread topped with caramel and white chocolate.
