Greene King confirms new pub brand launching next WEEK that will offer punters ‘everyday great value’

BREWERY giant Greene King is launching a new “value” brand of pubs in less than a week’s time. The brand said the new offering would focus on community focused pubs and local venues. The new brand would give punters a value-led offering Credit: Alamy Stock Photo Greene King‘s latest proposition, Cornerstone Pubs, is set to come to the UK on August 26. The newest concept would focus on “everyday great value” in community- centred pubs which previously sat within Greene King’s value and carvery formats. Sign up for the Money newsletter Thank you! Clair Preston Beer, chief digital and commercial officer at Greene King, told the Morning Advertiser: “We continue to invest in our core estate and set our pubs up for long- term success with a clear focus on our customers. “Cornerstone Pubs helps to strengthen our value-led offering in local communities across the country, bringing together our existing value and carvery formats to enhance customer experience and drive operational excellence.” This means that pubs will retain their original management team and branding for the time being. However, changes may be introduced to sites later down the line, including a new menu or entertainment offering. This comes as the brewery giant intends to restructure its retail estate, with 65 pubs currently under review for a potential sale. Back in March, more than 150 of its popular locals were at risk of closure as part of a massive shake-up.
