Greek ‘FBI’ joins suitcase death probe as cops reveal no fingerprints or DNA found after Scots woman found dead

GREEK’S ‘FBI’ has joined the probe into the death of a Scottish woman found stuffed in a suitcase in Athens. Interpol were even involved to help identify her body when DNA and fingerprints were circulated worldwide. Elisabeth’s cause of death has yet to be determined, but homicide cops from Greece‘s national force, the Hellenic Police, are leading the efforts to find answers. Police spokeswoman Konstantina Dimoglidou told the Times: “We have made it a priority so we can have results in the coming days. “Then we will know how she died. This can’t wait.” A fresh twist in the probe came when it emerged cops had found no DNA or fingerprints on the suitcase Elisabeth’s body was inside. It is believed Elisabeth told friends in Greece she was visiting American friends in Kypseli on July 15 but the Americans have yet to be found. Ms Dimoglidou added: “We’ve had the entire homicide division of the Greek FBI working night and day on the case. “We’re in contact with other police forces. We’re going to solve this. July 15 was the last day she had contact with any of her friends. There is always the possibility that she died and then for some reason was hidden. “Our priority is to get to the bottom of who left the suitcase. Whoever they were was careful not to leave any fingerprints or DNA.” It is feared Elisabeth may have been murdered by a homeless man she was helping. She had carried out charity work across the world. Local media has reported Elisabeth was seen speaking with homeless people in the area, while Greek cops are said to be looking for a man named “Markos”. Scottish cops are also believed to be carrying out investigations in Inverness.
