| Freelance soaps writer Published July 27, 2026 11:59pm Time in prison hasn’t changed Gray (Picture: BBC) Ever since Gray Atkins’ (Toby-Alexander Smith) guileful granny Shelia Atkins (Sheila Ruskins) rocked up in EastEnders a few weeks back, it was clear things were only ever going to end badly – and unfortunately for Chelsea Fox (Zaraah Abrahams) that turns out to be the case next week when she puts killer Gray’s sinister plan into action. Chelsea has recently been letting Shelia spend time with her and Gray’s son Jordan (Jahsaiah Williams), as she has been helping with medical costs associated with the youngster’s recovery after he was mowed down by Ian Beale’s (Adam Woodyatt) car. Shelia has done everything to earn Chelsea’s trust, but little does she realise, however, that she has been in secret cahoots with imprisoned Gray, who is serving a life sentence for the murders of Chantelle Atkins (Jessica Plummer), Kush Kazemi (Davood Ghadami) and Tina Carter (Luisa Bradshaw-White). Gray is desperate to form some sort of bond with his son, who he has not seen since he was finally brought to justice back in 2022. Gray and Chelsea’s son Jordan is in a wheelchair as a result of Ian hitting him with his car (Picture: BBC) Next week, Chelsea lets Sheila spend time alone with Jordan when she needs a babysitter so that she can visit her mum Denise Fox (Diane Parish) in hospital, amid her treatment for blood cancer. During her time with her great-grandson, Shelia darkly tests Jordan’s ability to keep a secret by taking him out and making him promise not to tell anyone about it. They have a close call, but Shelia is assured Jordan will do what she and Gray need next, so she starts to put his plan into action. Gray is using Sheila to his advantage (Picture: BBC) Quite what the pair have in store remains to be seen, but Gray is thrilled when Shelia updates him on the latest developments. However, their scheming hits a snag when Chelsea grows suspicious about something Jordan says, before a knock at the door soon worsens the situation. Shelia is left shaken and soon calls Gray to regroup – what danger are the devious duo about to unleash?
