Govt remote work continues on Sundays in Egypt during August

The Egyptian Cabinet on Thursday approved a draft resolution to continue remote work on Sundays for all employees in establishments subject to the Labor Law during August. The government began implementing a remote work system on Sundays in April as part of a package of measures aimed at strengthening the resilience of the national economy in the face of the repercussions of the Iran war. Its goal was rationalizing energy consumption and reducing government spending in light of regional economic developments. The decision to work remotely on Sundays of each week was extended during May, June and July, with the exception of some vital sectors such as public services and the health sector, transportation, industrial and production facilities, in addition to educational institutions. The decision is being implemented flexibly within organizations, with specific tasks being identified that can be performed remotely, while maintaining a minimum number of employees on-site when necessary.
