The hybrid pans are laser-etched with a grid of raised stainless-steel hexagons sitting above a ceramic non-stick surface, so the steel peaks do the browning while the valleys handle the release. Construction is tri-ply with an aluminium core, which prevents one side of a pan from running hotter than the other for even cooking. Pans are oven-safe up to 480°C and the glass lids up to 200°C, so you can start a chicken thigh on the hob and finish it in the oven without moving it to a second dish. They’re dishwasher-safe, too, although anyone who has owned decent cookware will probably still wash them by hand. At £749, it isn’t an impulse buy, and HexClad is upfront that the £1,148 figure alongside it represents what those pieces would cost if bought individually, rather than the price the set previously sold at. It suits a smaller kitchen or a first proper upgrade, and at £469, the outlay is easier to justify. Both sets come with a free 4.3 Litre Deep Sauté Pan, worth £179. There’s also a 3-for-2 offer on individual products, applied automatically at checkout with no code, which takes the price of your cheapest item off the total. But the bundles and sets are excluded – including the 13-piece. However, if you’re after specific sizes, I’d go with the 3-for-2 and skip the sets entirely. Who are they best for? People who want a versatile, durable set of almost non-stick pans and don’t mind spending good money. These are also a great option if you’re after cookware you can display – they look so good that I have them hanging on my wall. Is Hexclad non-toxic? The simple answer is yes – to a point. You’ll be completely safe as long as you don’t use them at mega high heats. What we loved: HexClad pans are good all-rounders, look amazing, and are far more durable than typical non-stick pans. They’re super easy to clean too. What we didn’t: The price. And while they are pretty good at most tasks, they don’t excel in any particular area. So is Hexclad worth it? I’ve been using the pans daily for the last couple of years, and they’ve shown no signs of wear other than a couple of stains and surface-level scratches.
