Google’s Pixel Watch 5 takes notes from the Fitbit Air in latest leak

The Pixel Watch 5 looks mostly familiar in leaks thus far, but a new leak showcases a Stephen Curry edition, a style that first debuted on Fitbit Air. @OnLeaks and MyMobiles shared a gallery of images of the Stephen Curry edition Pixel Watch 5, a silver version of the smartwatch with a special fabric band that has a brown material with orange accents, including a slightly raised set of orange strips on the inside of the watch. If it looks familiar, that’s because Google first debuted this style on the Fitbit Air earlier this year. On the outside of the band there’s a badge that says “Stephen Curry” and “#lockin.” A marketing summary highlights that the band is “water-repellent.” Designed with 4x NBA champion Stephen Curry, this special edition band features a water-repellent coating for your toughest workouts. Notably, a footnote from Google says that the “water protection is not permanent,” warning that the coating may “diminish or be completely removed over time due to normal wear and tear, environmental exposure, and regular use.” This version of the watch is said to cost €579.99 for the 45mm LTE variant, and it’s unclear if it will come in the smaller 41mm size or in a Bluetooth version.
