Google stops selling ‘Certified Refurbished’ Pixel 7 series, still no Pixel 9 yet

Google has pulled refurbished Pixel 7 devices from its store, with the Pixel 9 yet to make its debut. On the Google Store you can buy a “Certified Refurbished” Pixel smartphone at a lower price, usually hundreds off of the original retail price. While it’s not always the best deal compared to a used device on the private market, there’s considerable peace of mind in buying a refurbished device directly from Google seeing as every device comes with a one-year warranty, gets a full inspection with replacement parts, and is sold unlocked for use with any carrier. These devices are also available on Amazon. But the options have now shrunk. Google now only has the Pixel 8 series – 8, Pro, and 8a – available alongside the Pixel 7a, with prices ranging from $289 to $649. The Pixel 7 series has been removed in the past few days, with its final appearance on the Wayback Machine in late August. Google was running a promotion where refurbished Pixel 7 devices included a free Pixel Watch 2 from July up until the past week or so. This doesn’t come as a huge surprise. The Pixel 7 series launched in 2022 and will stop getting updates in the latter half of 2027. What’s more of a surprise is that the Pixel 9 series has yet to arrive in Google’s refurbished program. With Pixel 11 now available, it’s likely the Pixel 9 will arrive in the coming weeks. Pixel 8 was added in October 2025, roughly two months after the Pixel 10’s debut.
