Google Maps update now shows you the Fall foliage along your route [Video]

Google Maps is rolling out a slightly adorable new update that shows the Fall colors along your navigation route, but not everywhere. Available in “applicable US metros” through the end of November, Google Maps will now show colorful Fall foliage along your route. This means that Maps will show trees along the side of the road with a pop of orange. It’s a fun little update, but one that won’t show for everyone. Google hasn’t specified exactly which “applicable US metros” will be able to see the Fall colors, but Boston is shown in the example video below. It’s also notable that this seems to only appear while navigation is active, as we couldn’t see the colors when scanning through Boston in the Maps app outside of navigation mode. Let us know in the comments below if you’re seeing this update and what city you’re in. FTC: We use income earning auto affiliate links. More.
