(Photo: Google)We are just hours away from one of the biggest smartphone launches of the year with the Google Pixel 11 series. Google is set to take the wraps off its latest devices during the Made by Google event in New York later today. While the company has not given official word on which devices are to be announced, we expect to see four phones – the Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL, and the Pixel 11 Pro Fold.Apart from new smartphones, Google has also confirmed the launch of the Pixel Watch 5, and we may also see new Gemini features this time around. Here is how you can watch the launch as it happens. How to watch Google Pixel 11 launch? The Made by Google event takes place on August 12 at 6 pm ET – 3:30 am IST on August 13 – in New York. You can tune in to the livestream via Google’s website or the Made by Google YouTube channel.Last year, Google brought TV host Jimmy Fallon to host the Pixel 10 launch. This time around, the company has roped in comedian Trevor Noah. Apart from Noah, reports indicate that we may see some big names during the livestream including Shubman Gill, Alex Cooper, Stephen Curry, and Peggy Gou. The pre-orders for the Pixel 11 series will open before the launch, at 7:30 pm IST on August 12.What to expect from Google Pixel 11 launchIf you have been keeping track of Pixel launches over the years, you may recall that it usually leaks surface weeks before launch. The same seems to have happened with the Pixel 11 series too, giving us some idea of what we can expect. But before we take a look at the rumours, do note that Google has already teased some features of the Pixel 11, including a new Pixel Glow light on the back of the Pixel 11 Pro and Pixel 11 Pro XL.While we have seen phones like the Nothing Phone 4a or the Redmi Turbo 5 to come with lights on the back, Google may use Pixel Glow in sync with Gemini Intelligence along with notifications and calls.Google Pixel 11 series design and display This is how the Pixel 11 might look. (Photo: AndroidHeadlines) Going by the leaks, there is not much when it comes to design changes compared to the Pixel 10. Though this year, Google is likely adopting an all-black camera module on the Pixel 11 series, likely to make room for Pixel Glow. The horizontal shape of the module is expected to remain unchanged on the slab phones, with the Pixel 11 Pro Fold potentially getting a redesigned camera bump.We may see a similar story on the front too. Google is expected to keep display sizes broadly unchanged from the Pixel 10 lineup. The Pixel 11 and Pixel 11 Pro will likely pack 6.3-inch OLED displays with a 120Hz refresh rate. The Pixel 11 Pro XL may carry over the 6.8-inch OLED panel from last year. The Pixel 11 Pro Fold is rumoured to pack a 6.4-inch cover display and an 8.0-inch inner screen.Google Pixel 11 series performance and batteryThe biggest upgrade for the Pixel 11 devices may come from Google’s new Tensor G6 processor. As per leaks, this chipset could be made by TSMC on a 2nm process, and move away from Samsung-derived modem technology in favour of MediaTek’s M90 modem. All of this may help in improving performance and efficiency on all the Pixel 11 phones. On the battery front, the Pixel 11 may use a 4,985mAh battery, while the Pixel 11 Pro may pack in a slightly smaller cell at 4,850mAh cell. The Google Pixel 11 Pro XL is expected to use a 5,115mAh battery, while the foldable model is tipped to feature a 4,806mAh cell.Google Pixel 11 series cameras and AIDetails regarding the cameras on the Pixel 11 series remain unclear as of now. Leaks indicate that the Pixel 11 may use the same setup as last year, including a 48-megapixel main, a 13-megapixel ultrawide, and 10.5-megapixel 5x telephoto. It is possible that Google ditches the telephoto, potentially to keep the prices in check. The Pixel 11 Pro and Pixel 11 Pro XL are expected to bring more camera-focused upgrades. The two phones are tipped to pack a triple-camera setup – a 50-megapixel main camera, a 48-megapixel ultra-wide and a 48-megapixel periscope telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom. You can also expect AI features for the camera such as Camera Coach to be carried over from last year. The Pixel phones have always delivered a clean Android experience. This is expected to continue as the Pixel 11 phones are likely to run on Android 17 out-of-the-box. We can also expect new Gemini features to debut with the Pixel 11 devices.Google Pixel 11 expected price A render of the purported Pixel 11 Pro XL. (Photo: AndroidHeadlines) Google has hinted that the Pixel 11 phones may be more expensive than last year as the company manages rising component costs. Last month Google executive Shakil Barkat said that the company was “not immune” to the rising RAM costs due to the demand from AI data centres. That is, we can expect the Pixel 11 series to cut a deeper hole in your pocket – other phonemakers have also raised prices in recent months. As per reports, the Google Pixel 11 may start at Rs 89,999 in India, an increase of Rs 10,000 from last year. We may see a similar hike for the Pixel 11 Pro at Rs 1,19,999, up from Rs 1,09,999 from the Pixel 10 Pro. The Pixel 11 Pro XL may cost you Rs 1,34,999 while the Pixel 11 Pro Fold could be priced at Rs 1,86,999.What else can launch?Apart from the Pixel 11 phones, Google will also launch the Pixel Watch 5 at the event. Leaks suggest that the new Pixel Watch will be offered in 41mm and 45mm sizes and keep a design similar to previous models. The Pixel Watch 5 may use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon W5 Gen 2 “Accelerated” chip, paired with 3GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. The watch is also expected to bring more health, safety, sleep tracking and Gemini-linked features. Pricing is tipped to start at $399 (roughly Rs 38,000) for the 41mm model and $429 (roughly Rs 41,000) for the 45mm version.Beyond the phones and smartwatch, the Pixel Tag remains a possible wildcard. The Pixel Tag may compete with Apple’s AirTag, and rely on Google’s Find Hub network. Reports have suggested a pill-shaped design, a built-in speaker in the Pixel Tag. Google could also introduce a new dark green colourway for the Pixel Buds Pro 2, though there is no strong indication yet of a Pixel Buds Pro 3 launch. Some reports have further said Google may share more about Android XR glasses being developed with partners including Warby Parker and Gentle Monster, while a preview of Googlebook laptops could be on the cards too.- EndsPublished By: Armaan AgarwalPublished On: Aug 12, 2026 13:06 IST
