Google Find Hub rolls out ‘Notify when left behind’ tracker alerts on Android

As previewed in October, Google has added “Notify when left behind” alerts for Find Hub tags and trackers on Android. To enable, open the Find Hub app and choose a tag. In the top-right corner of the bottom sheet, select the settings gear icon. There is a new “Notify when left behind” section to “Receive a notification when this tag is separated from your phone.” By default, there’s an exception for the Home address you’ve stored in your Google Account (Maps). We’re seeing this notification option with Chipolo trackers and the Moto Tag today with version 3.1.787-06 of Find Hub for Android for both US and European users. It does not appear for other device types, like headphones. This is a basic capability that Find Hub should have really offered for devices on the network since the beginning. Google first mentioned this “Left-Behind Reminders“ capability in the release notes for Google Play services. This should also be surfaced as part of a “new registration flow” for devices, along with setting category icons (Bike, Luggage, Wallet, etc.) and renaming tags. Google also mentioned upcoming NFC support that lets you “quickly access Find Hub tag details and settings or identify lost tags when you tap the tag with your phone.” More on Find Hub: Google Find Hub rolls out new ‘Remembered’ tab with Gemini Hands-on: Orbitkey elevated its time-tested key organizer with a built-in Google Find Hub tracker This new Android & iPhone tracker hides in your bike or golf clubs with 3-year battery life [Gallery] FTC: We use income earning auto affiliate links.
