Good News and Bad News ahead of La Familia vs. The Ville Game 2

I’ve got good news and bad news for La Familia tonight vs. The Ville. Good news first: Willie Cauley-Stein is available to play; unfortunately, Archie Goodwin is not. TBT just released an updated availability report. Willie has been upgraded from questionable to active. La Familia’s big man suffered an ankle injury early in the second half of Game 1, but was able to practice yesterday, Chris Coffey told Mario Maitland. The fact that Willie can go is huge news for Kentucky’s alumni team, as Marcus Lee is unavailable. Lee did not attend Game 1. Also not available tonight: Archie Goodwin, who led La Familia in points (18.0 ppg) and assists (6.7 apg) last year. Goodwin was supposed to join the team today after missing Game 1 due to a scheduling conflict. Apparently, that is not happening. La Familia will soldier on without him, Lee, Quade Green, and Reid Travis, who all originally committed to play. Thankfully, The Ville is down a few guys too, with Ray Spalding and Angel Nunez listed as out after also missing Game 1. STATUS UPDATE: Willie Cauley-Stein has been ungraded to ACTIVE Archie Goodwin has been downgraded to INACTIVE— TBT Stats & Info (@TBTstatsinfo) July 20, 2026 Hopefully, La Familia called in Jeff Sheppard’s ankle doctor to help Willie get through tonight’s game. Before getting hurt, Willie put up three points, four rebounds, two steals, an assist, and a block in 16 minutes. His only bucket of the day was the first play of the game, an alley-oop dunk from Andrew Harrison. When Willie went down with the injury, Montrezl Harrell feasted inside, leading The Ville’s comeback. Fingers crossed that Harrell is tired after scoring a BIG3-record 42 points in Chicago yesterday. Game two tips off at 7 p.m. ET on FS1. We’ll have boots on the ground to cover it all. Until then, prepare by reading Drew Franklin’s keys to the game, which could use some updating given the latest news on Willie and Archie.
