Published Sep 10, 2026, 9:53 AM EDT Should Heile stay with the Sanzhani or leave with Tonis? Image: Rebel Wolves/Bandai Namco Entertainment The "Good Home" quest in The Blood of Dawnwalker forms the first part of the Sanzhani storyline, so be sure not to miss it. Beware that it won't be easy to complete this quest, though, as it contains a particularly tough dilemma; should Heile stay with her fairy guardians, or live among humans? On top of that, depending on your decision, you may have to slay a few dozen enemies in search of shiny teeth. Here's what happens if Heile leaves the Sanzhani in The Blood of Dawnwalker's "Good Home" quest, plus where to find shiny teeth. To start the "Good Home" quest, go to the Svartrau Outskirts north of Svartrau City and find the glowing boulder surrounded by red mushrooms — a mushroom fairy ring. It's directly north of the Sandy Gorge shrine. Inside, you'll meet a little girl named Heile, who wants you to find her brother, Tonis. If you agree to help her, here's what you must do to complete the "Good Home" quest: Find Tonis. Decide where Heile should live. Optionally, find three shiny teeth. Where to find Tonis in the 'Good Home' quest Heile suggests two possible places where Tonis might be; in Oghasti Village, or at the Wooden Palace. Here's what happens when you visit these locations: Investigating Oghasti takes one time segment. Make sure you have the right house; it's the one with the blue shutters and the plague mark at the front door. This investigation won't yield any direct results besides some background info on Heile's childhood. However, skipping this objective locks you out of a relatively "good" quest outcome. Investigating the Wooden Palace takes two time segments. Once you've investigated the viewpoint on the top floor, it'll point you to the woodcutter's camp near the river. This isn't key to the story, but shows you where to find Tonis. To save time, you can skip the Wooden Palace and go straight to the woodcutter's camp. Question the Coal Burner Chief about Tonis, and he'll tell you to follow the marked trees, leading to Tonis' camp in the forest. You can still reach every quest outcome as long as you've investigated Oghasti. Finally, you can skip everything, even the woodcutter's camp (though it doesn't take time), and find Tonis' camp without any additional steps. Whichever route you take, here's where you'll find Tonis: Graphic: Marloes Valentina Stella/Polygon | Source images: Rebel Wolves/Bandai Namco Entertainment To make Tonis talk, you must either offer him Millet Beer or Transylvanian White Wine, or help him with his work. The latter costs three time segments, so it's best to offer alcohol if you have some on hand. No matter what you say next, Tonis will eventually agree to meet Heile. Go with him to enter the next cutscene right away, or agree to meet in front of the burrow later. Since he's a mere mortal, you can also kill him at this point… What happens if you kill Tonis? Don't worry, you psycho; you can still finish the "Good Home" quest and claim your reward. If you murder Tonis, you must return to Heile and either tell her that Tonis is dead or admit that you killed him (both of which take one time segment). Heile will be upset, but the Sanzhani are pleased, so you'll be rewarded with the "Letters to Lunka" quest anyway. Decide where Heile should live in the 'Good Home' quest If you didn't kill Tonis and continued the "Good Home" story, you'll have an important decision to make: Should Heile live with Tonis, or stay with the Sanzhani? Depending on your choice, here's what happens next. Image: Rebel Wolves/Bandai Namco Entertainment Convince the Sanzhani to let Heile go: Say, "The girl should live among her own kind," followed by "And what future awaits her here?" Agree to collect some shiny teeth for the Sanzhani to "pay" for Heile's keep. Heile will leave with Tonis once you've delivered the shiny teeth. Convince Tonis to let Heile stay: Say, "Tonis, Heile is happy here," "You can't provide for her," and "She's safe here." Tonis will leave and the Sanzhani will allow him to visit Heile once every new moon. As mentioned earlier, you can only choose this path if you investigated the old home in Oghasti! Try (but fail) to convince Tonis that Heile should stay: Choose anything but the two options above. Tonis leaves angrily and warns the Sanzhani that he'll come back with other men to free his sister. The Sanzhani will kill Tonis. To collect three shiny teeth for the Sanzhani, kill any kind of human; soldier, bandit, civilian, etc. Beware that a shiny tooth is a rare drop — you may have to loot about three dozen humans before you have enough to complete The Blood of Dawnwalker's "Good Home" quest. The reward for completing "Good Home" is the ability to exchange messages with Lunka, Coen's sister, in Greifberg Castle. This is part of the follow-up quest, "Letters to Lunka." What happens if Heile leaves with Tonis? If you chose the first option and delivered three shiny teeth to the Sanzhani, "Good Home" will end. If you like, you can check in on Heile and Tonis at the woodcutters' camp. Heile will tell you about her new life (collecting kindling for half a loaf of bread) and how she misses the Sanzhani, whereas Tonis will inform you of his plans to marry Heile off in a year or two. You have the option to give Tonis 100 denarii. The Blood of Dawnwalker is a time-sensitive, narrative RPG where your actions and decisions matter. After the prologue, you're free to explore Vale Sangora and take on Brencis' boyars however you please, but the freedom can be a bit overwhelming. To help, here's what we recommend doing after the prologue.
