Golden Dragon maps 3km WA gold corridor ripe for drilling

Brought to you by BULLS N’ BEARSMurray WardJuly 21, 2026 — 2:36pmGolden Dragon Mining has lit up a mouthwatering three-kilometre-long gold-in-soil anomaly at its Cue project in WA’s prolific Murchison goldfields, effectively stitching together four previously separate prospects into what looks to be a single, large, mineralised corridor. The company’s maiden 827-hole auger drilling program returned two significant gold anomalies with a hefty peak value of 720 parts per billion (ppb).Golden Dragon Mining’s Cue gold project in WA, where an auger program has defined a significant 3km-long gold-in-soil anomaly.Golden Dragon says the targets march in lockstep with arsenic and antimony, a combination it describes as a “classic orogenic gold pathfinder signature.Orogenic systems are typically structurally controlled and are responsible for some of the world’s largest gold deposits such as the Kalgoorlie Super Pit, a 60-million-ounce producer.‘We see clear potential to build on the existing discoveries at Behring Bore and Coodardy.’Golden Dragon Mining managing director Simon Buswell-SmithThe company says the newly defined zones follow a distinct northeast trend linking its Curtis Find, Behring Bore, Coodardy and Piston prospects, providing a compelling new exploration theory for a much bigger, continuous mineralised system than previously thought.Golden Dragon Mining managing director Simon Buswell-Smith said: “These results represent a significant step forward for Golden Dragon, the maiden auger program successfully defining kilometre-scale gold anomalies across the Coodardy/Behring Bore corridor. The scale, strength and coherence of the gold-in-soil anomalism, together with its strong association with arsenic and antimony, are highly encouraging and consistent with a classic orogenic gold system.”The results from the regional auger program have added weight to a string of high-grade reverse circulation (RC) drilling hits the company has already bagged at the individual prospects, now linked by the new soil anomalies. In May, drilling at the Coodardy prospect returned a headline-grabbing intersection of 12m at 6.5 grams per tonne (g/t) gold from just 44m downhole, which included a screamer four-metre section going a stellar 17.6g/t gold.Previous drilling in February at the prospect unearthed 8m at 10.82/t gold from a shallow 25m, featuring a standout slice of 4m running 21.37g/t gold.In June, Behring Bore also delivered with a solid 4-metre hit grading 5.3g/t gold from just 44m. The high-grade core sits within a broader 20m mineralised envelope going 1.57g/t gold.Other notable results from the 26-hole, 2100-metre campaign at Behring Bore included an 8-metre section running at 2.92g/t gold from a shallow 20m, featuring a richer 4m interval at 5.5g/t gold. A third hole returned 12m at 1.07g/t gold from 80m, including 4m at 2.13g/t gold. These high-grade intercepts now sit within the newly defined 3km-long anomalous corridor, supporting the working theory that widespread surface geochem could be pointing to something bigger lurking at depth.Golden Dragon is now planning heritage surveys and engaging drilling contractors to begin targeted drill testing of the freshly identified highly prospective zones along the new corridor. In parallel, the company is continuing its RC drilling at Behring Bore and Coodardy, targeting extensions to its already identified high-grade zones.Having only listed on the ASX in October last year after a $5 million IPO, Golden Dragon has wasted no time in putting its exploration dollars to work across the 619-square-kilometre Cue project. The ground sits in a tier-one gold district, neighbouring the revered Westgold Resources’ 2.3-million-ounce Big Bell gold mine.By connecting the dots between its prospects with this latest regional-scale geochem survey, Golden Dragon has just handed its geos a much bigger, cohesive hunting ground to explore. With drills already being lined up to test the new targets, the next round of results could get very interesting indeed. Is your ASX-listed company doing something interesting?
