More than 100 roads are blocked off across the bank holiday weekend, with new restrictions like those on Notting Hill Gate.Only pre-authorised vehicles and emergency services are permitted to drive into the zone. Even residents will be denied access to driving in the area. Road closures apply from 6am on Sunday (August 30) to 6am on Tuesday (September 1), while parking restrictions came into effect from 11.59pm on Saturday (August 29). There will also be widespread disruption across the Underground network too as TfL prepares for millions to descend onto the streets of Notting Hill. How to get to Notting Hill Carnival The worst kept secret of Notting Hill Carnival is to travel to a station further afield and complete the journey by foot to avoid the crowds. Reasonable suggestions include walking from Paddington or Maida Vale. Ladbroke Grove will be closed all day on Monday, while other stations may operate as exit-only from 11am. This includes Notting Hill Gate, Westbourne Park, Holland Park, Queensway, and Royal Oak.
