Sign in to your TheGamer account YouTube isn't exactly a stranger when it comes to larger-than-life projects starting on the platform, but one industry that has seen some absurd growth in recent years comes from the indie animation side of things. From shows like Hazbin Hotel getting streaming deals with Amazon to the unprecedented success story of the now-concluded The Amazing Digital Circus getting a groundbreaking theatrical release, there are plenty of eyes on channels like Glitch Productions. Although the studio has numerous projects under its belt or currently in production already, like the recently released sequel to the Knights of Guinevere pilot, yet another one of their original projects has been given the go-ahead for a full debut. Gameoverse Gets The Green Light Only five months after the smashing success of its original Pilot episode, which has now reached over 31.7 million views on YouTube, Glitch has announced on their official YouTube channel that Gameoverse has been greenlit for a full 8-episode season, meaning we'll have 7 more episodes to look forward to in addition to the currently released pilot. Although Glitch's standard release schedule means there will be a bit of a wait between each actual episode, the first episode will be released in May 2027, exactly one year since the original Pilot directed by none other than animator and comedian Ross O'Donovan went live, followed by another in August and October. Joining The Growing Roster Of Serialized Indie Animation Following the story of a ragtag group of video game protagonists known as the Farcade attempting to save other game worlds from their own destruction, the animation project has already been a smash hit with fans, with millions of views days after the release, which is well deserved given how long the project has been in development and the sheer amount of talent helming its creation. While Gameoverse has only been greenlit for one season so far, its creator has expressed interest in going even further if there is enough demand for the project, although we'll have to wait closer to the series' actual run before finding out how definitive the first season will end up being.
