Felipe is a writer who is an avid film and TV fan, with superhero movies and series being his biggest passion. He graduated from college in 2019, having studied Journalism. Before college, he spent a month studying at the Oxford English Centre. His superhero knowledge expands to the comics, with his undergraduate thesis being "Politics Reflected In American Comics." Glen Powell has a successful TV-MA series that mixes comedy, thriller, and more into one, and this exciting show makes for an incredibly quick binge despite the fact that it has two seasons so far. Powell is one of Hollywood's new movie stars, having found immense success in theaters with Top Gun: Maverick opposite Tom Cruise. Since then, Powell's list of movies continues to grow. Many might have heard of his more popular movies, such as the R-rated rom-com Anyone but You alongside Sydney Sweeney, or Twisters, which breathed new life into the classic disaster franchise. That said, Powell's talents are not only contained to the big screen. While that is where the actor can mostly be seen these days, Powell has been a part of a few exciting TV shows. For instance, while Powell has yet to join the Jurassic World franchise in live-action, the actor voices the charismatic camp counselor Dave in Netflix's animated series Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous. Powell has also delivered a hilarious performance in Ryan Murphy's Scream Queens, shown up for an episode of Rick and Morty to show off his impeccable comedic timing, and more. It is clear that Powell does well with the genre. That is precisely where the actor has had his biggest TV role in years, as Powell both leads and serves as a co-creator on Hulu's Chad Powers. Chad Powers is a wild sports comedy that sees Powell play disgraced college football quarterback Russ Holliday, who uses prosthetics and makeup to reignite his career years later as the lovable Chad Powers. Chad Powers Makes For An Exciting And Quick Binge Chad Powers is a quick binge for anyone pondering whether to check out Powell's hit comedy series. While the show has aired two seasons thus far on the streamer, the sports comedy's 12 episodes are not that long. All episodes of Chad Powers range from 27 minutes to 41 minutes, making it an easy binge that new viewers can finish on Hulu in just six hours. This runtime suits Chad Powers, as the show is a comedy that brings along little filler, and so the shorter runtimes allow the story to take center stage, while not being oversaturated with the absurd comedy the show goes for. Chad Powers' main attraction is seeing how Russ attempts to pull off living a double life, masquerading as the aloof and optimistic star quarterback of the South Georgia Catfish. Along the way, he forges a powerful bond with best friend Danny (Frankie Rodriguez), and develops feelings for the coach's daughter, Ricky (Perry Mattfeld), the determined and talented offensive assistant coach of the team. Chad Powers succeeds for featuring actors with great comedic timing, including Steve Zahn, unraveling a charming rom-com plot amid the madness, and taking a left turn towards downright thriller territory in season 2, making it an entertaining binge. What Chad Powers' Future Holds At the time of writing, Hulu has yet to renew Chad Powers for season 3. That said, Powell and co-creator Michael Waldron have reiterated that they have a three-season plan in mind. Speaking to TV Insider in September, Waldron, who directed four out of the six episodes of Chad Powers season 2 and created Marvel's Loki series, claimed that three seasons is likely as far as they can go when it comes to Chad Powers' premise, saying that has always been his and Powell's plan for the Hulu sports comedy series. Chad Powers season 2 managed to upgrade the show's image with both critics and viewers. On Rotten Tomatoes, Chad Powers stands at a near-perfect 93% critics' score, boasting a similarly stellar 92% audience score. This is a big boost from season 1, which holds a decent 60% critics' score and a high 85% audience score. Chad Powers is a strong series full of heart, humor, and surprises, and with a short runtime, it works well as a binge on Hulu.
