Glastonbury 2027 fans reveal who they really want to headline in major Metro vote (Picture: Getty Images) Glastonbury 2027’s dream headline line-up has been decided by Metro readers, and it seems the public would quite like to turn Worthy Farm into the world’s biggest rock concert. With 3,003 votes cast in our poll asking music fans who they’d most like to see take to the Pyramid Stage next summer, three acts have emerged victorious – although whether organisers will be taking notes is another matter entirely. Despite a host of pop superstars being in the running, including Taylor Swift, Beyoncé and Harry Styles, readers overwhelmingly favoured some rather different musical heavyweights. And, somewhat inconveniently, the most popular choice has already been all but ruled out by festival boss Emily Eavis. Yes, Oasis have claimed the top spot, securing 400 votes (13.32%) from fans desperate to see Liam and Noel Gallagher bring their reunion to Glastonbury. Unfortunately, Eavis has already poured cold water on speculation that the brothers will be headlining next year’s festival. The results are in! Oasis were the clear winners of Metro’s Glastonbury 2027 dream headliner poll (Picture: Stephane Cardinale – Corbis/Corbis via Getty Images) Clearly, Metro readers have decided to ignore this information entirely. Fair enough. Coming in a surprisingly close second were Irish rock legends U2, who received 387 votes (12.89%). Bono and company last headlined Glastonbury in 2011, meaning a return in 2027 would mark 16 years since their previous Pyramid Stage appearance. Rounding out the public’s dream headline trio is Eminem, who secured 322 votes (10.72%), narrowly beating The Rolling Stones with 320 votes (10.66%). The rapper has never headlined Glastonbury, and apparently there are plenty of people who would like to remedy that. U2 came in second place, securing almost 13% of the public vote (Picture: Gareth Cattermole/Getty Images for U2) It’s certainly an interesting combination. Between Oasis, U2 and Eminem, the imaginary 2027 line-up would have enough hits to keep several generations of festivalgoers entertained, although perhaps not everyone would agree on the playlist. Sam Fender narrowly misses out as Taylor Swift trails behind While our readers’ top three might be dominated by established legends, the younger generation didn’t go completely unrepresented. Sam Fender finished fifth with 314 votes (10.46%), just eight votes behind Eminem. The Geordie singer has been widely tipped to headline next year’s festival, with reports suggesting he’s already secured one of the coveted slots. If those rumours prove true, at least one of the public’s more popular choices could become a reality. The pop superstar was originally due to headline Glastonbury in 2020, before Covid rather rudely intervened. Despite having some unfinished business at Worthy Farm, it seems Metro readers aren’t quite as desperate for a Swiftie takeover as one might expect. Harry Styles followed in seventh place with 195 votes (6.49%), while Glastonbury veterans Muse finished eighth with 186 (6.19%). Beyoncé suffers surprising defeat in Glastonbury poll Perhaps the biggest surprise, however, came at the opposite end of the results. Despite delivering one of the most celebrated Glastonbury headline performances in 2011, Beyoncé finished dead last. Queen Bey received just 59 votes (1.96%), making her the least popular of the 14 acts included in our poll. Beyoncé finished bottom of the poll despite her legendary 2011 Glastonbury performance(Picture: Samir Hussein/Getty Images) Somewhere, the Beyhive is presumably preparing a strongly worded response. Chappell Roan didn’t fare much better, finishing second from bottom with 85 votes (2.83%), while Miley Cyrus received 87 (2.90%). Ed Sheeran, who last headlined in 2017, collected 115 votes (3.83%), while Rihanna received 128 (4.26%) and Madonna secured 156 (5.19%). Of course, the results reflect the preferences of readers who participated in our poll, rather than a representative verdict from the entire nation. The Pyramid Stage’s next three headliners remain a closely guarded secret (Picture: Matt Cardy/Getty Images) But they do suggest that, given the choice, a substantial number of fans would rather see a guitar-heavy nostalgia fest than a weekend dominated by today’s biggest pop stars. As for the actual line-up, Eavis has confirmed that all three headliners have already been booked, although their identities are expected to remain under wraps until the spring. And with tickets selling out in just 42 minutes, thousands of fans have already committed more than £400 to attend without knowing who they’ll be watching. For now, Metro readers have made their preferences clear. Oasis, U2 and Eminem: the people have spoken. Whether Emily Eavis agrees is another question entirely.
