I agree with Rev Nicholas Bradbury of Oxford (Letters, 2 November) about the sad disappearance of healthy wholemeal bread. I find sourdough indigestible and expensive. Fortunately, Nash’s bakery in Blackbird Leys, Oxford, sells excellent wholemeal bread. A group of us take it in turns to do the weekly “bread run” by bike or bus from Osney Island and Marston – much to the amusement of the friendly shop staff. Clare Addison Oxford Your correspondent’s plea for dog licences (Letters, 1 November) reminded me of my primary school in the 1950s. In preparation for the 11-plus exam, one of the “intelligence test” questions was – “Which is the odd one out: cat, dog, radio?” Most people answered radio. The correct answer was cat – because it was the only one that didn’t require a licence. Philip Allen London It’s early November and I’ve just picked another pound of outdoor tomatoes (sungold and gardener’s delight). Now tell me climate change isn’t happening. Guy Sowerby Bingham, Nottinghamshire No more rice grains in Kellogg’s Rice Krispies (Snap and crackle but no pop: Rice Krispies reformulated due to lack of rice, 3 November)? What next? No more corn in Corn Flakes? No more sugar in Honey Monster Wheat Puffs (AKA Sugar Puffs) and less Trump in the US? Rory Murphy London Donald Trump asked US voters to pretend he was on the ballot. They did (Report, 4 November). Dom Flint Sheffield
