Girl, 16, reveals how she watched her pals die in front of her as they lay trapped in car in water-filled ditch for 3hrs

A TEEN girl has revealed how she watched her friends die as they lay trapped in a car in a water-filled ditch for three hours. Adam Dudzinski, 17, and his girlfriend Chloe-Ann Naylor, 16, drowned after he lost control of a blue Ford Fiesta while driving in Iwade, Kent. The girl, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was eventually found by her dad, who tracked her location on the Live 360 mobile phone app. Sign up for The Sun newsletter Thank you! She said Adam had been driving fast but was not speeding and although he tried to slow down, he did not brake in time for the bend. This caused the vehicle to veer off the road, flip upside down and land in the ditch during the January 3 tragedy. While trapped, Adam had said “I am sorry, I am so sorry”, as Chloe tried to keep his head above the water. The schoolgirl said she kept shouting her friend’s name, but after a time, Chloe tragically stopped answering. Coroner Ian Potter heard how Sainsbury’s shop worker Adam was driving the two girls to Chloe’s home when tragedy struck. Most read in The Sun Adam, who didn’t have a licence and was uninsured, was driving along the dark and remote country road when he lost control at a sharp bend. Chloe tried to call the emergency services and her mum while she was upside down and trapped but the calls did not connect. Their worried families reported them missing but there were no clues where they might be. The 16-year-old girl’s dad then managed to find his daughter even though the 360 app stopped sending coordinates. He had gone to where its final co-ordinates were registered and discovered the partly submerged vehicle. After he raised the alarm, paramedics, fire crews, police and the coastguard went to the scene. Tragically, Chloe and Adam had died by the time they arrived, the inquest heard. The 16-year-old survivor was taken to hospital but later discharged. Investigators found no evidence that Adam had been speeding at the time, but he was likely to have been going too fast for the conditions. Officers tried to press charges against his legal guardian for permitting unlicensed and uninsured driving but the Crown Prosecution Service said there was not enough evidence. The coroner concluded the inquest by saying he “was so sorry” for the families’ loss. Recording accidental death verdicts, he said: “This is a very tragic state of circumstances and I cannot begin to imagine what the three families have been through.”
