Giorgia Whigham Joins Kevin Bacon in Amazon MGM Horror Thriller ‘Summoner’ (Exclusive)

Logo text Giorgia Whigham, one of the stars of Peacock’s Ted series, will star opposite Kevin Bacon in Summoner, the Amazon MGM horror thriller that is being directed by Jeremy Slater, the longtime genre writer behind Mortal Kombat II and The Umbrella Academy. Horror filmmaker Andy Muschietti is producing with Barbara Muschietti and Russell Ackerman, with plans for a fall shoot in Ireland. Slater’s script follows an exorcist names Jefferson Haddock (Bacon), who is called into an isolated witness protection property to deal with a terrifying demon, accidentally unleashing a force that threatens to end him and everything around him. Whigham will play a protection agent. Dan Kagan (Longlegs), Melissa Russell, Carl Hampe and John Schoenfelder are executive producing. Amazon MGM plans to give Summoner a theatrical release. Whigham is best known for playing Blaire Bennett in Seth MacFarlane’s Peacock series Ted, which became, at the time, the most-watched original title in Peacock’s history when it debuted in 2024. She appeared in Marvel’s The Punisher, Netflix’s 13 Reasons Why, and MTV’s Scream. She recently wrapped a lead role in the indie How the Cookie Crumbles, which she also executive produced. She is repped by Gersh and Range Media. THR Newsletters Sign up for THR news straight to your inbox every day Subscribe Sign Up
