The Beatles' sixth studio album, Rubber Souls, has been re-released with 24 early session recordings Behind them in third place is The Age Of Everything by former The Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr.Should The Beatles secure the coveted slot, it would be the first time since October 2019, when Abbey Road rebounded back to the top.Rubber Soul consisted of eleven songs by John Lennon and Paul McCartney, along with two by the late George Harrison.They include acclaimed tracks In My Life and Norwegian Wood (This Bird Has Flown).In the expanded special, fans can hear early versions of iconic tracks like Day Tripper and We Can Work It Out, as well as John Lennon's previously unheard demo titled Little Girl.The Beatles have the most records on the Official Albums Charts, with 15 albums spanning 176 weeks.It comes as director Sam Mendes's upcoming four-part Beatles biopic on the band continues production.Paul Mescal, 30, stars as Paul McCartney, alongside Barry Keoghan, 33, as Ringo Starr. They are joined by Joseph Quinn, 32, who is playing George Harrison, and Harris Dickinson, 30, as John Lennon.Each instalment will tell the story from a different Beatle's perspective. All four films are due to be released simultaneously in 2028.In August, Abbey Road's zebra crossing came to a standstill to recreate the Beatles' album cover.The original album cover picture was taken on August 8, 1969, with Iain Macmillan snapping the band as they crossed the street outside what was then EMI Studios.
